Disabled People Reach Association Buildings
The Physically Disabled Association building, which was put up for sale in MANİSA, was purchased under the leadership of the Manisa Industrial Park and donated to the disabled. The renovated building was opened on December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and 10 battery powered vehicles were provided to the physically handicapped by Manisa IP.
On December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Manisa, the physically handicapped people got the buildings of the association. The building of the Association for the Physically Disabled, serving in the 1st Anafartalar District of Şehzadeler District, was put up for sale in 2015. The management of Manisa Industrial Park took care of the physically handicapped, who faced the danger of being without an association. Under the leadership of the Industrial Park Education and Research and Development Foundation, Manisa IP Chairman of the Board Sait Türek, Manisa OIZ Deputy Chairman of the Board Mustafa Sarıgözoğlu, Manisa IP Manager Funda Karaboran, IP industrialists Gaye Akçen, Semih Vardarer, Ramazan Sönmez, Muzaffer Buğdaycı, Kadir Murat Çam, With the financial contributions of Doğan Çelik, Faruk Can, Manisa IP Advisor to the President Nihat Akyol and en Güven Gürtunca, the building of the association for the physically handicapped was purchased. In the building purchased by Manisa IP, renovations were made for the disabled and computers were installed. The association was named after İnci Gürtunca, mother of Güven Gürtunca, who contributed the most in the purchase of the building.
The new building of İnci Gürtunca Association for the Physically Disabled was opened on December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Manisa Governor Mustafa Hakan Güvençer, AK Party Manisa Deputy Selçuk Özdağ, Şehzadeler Municipality Mayor Ömer Faruk Çelik, Manisa IP President Sait Türek, industrialists, bureaucrats, the disabled and their families attended the opening. Speaking at the opening of the association, Association President Yasemin Yıldız said that they faced the danger of being without a building before, but they got the association’s building with the contributions of Manisa IP. Yıldız said, “Our building was rent, we were having trouble paying it. They asked us to leave the building. Later, it was bought by Manisa IP and they gave it to us as a gift on 3 December, World Disability Day.”
10 BATTERY VEHICLES FOR THE DISABLED
Sait Türek, Chairman of the Board of Manisa Industrial Park, stated that the opening was held on a meaningful day and said that they always support the disabled. Türek said that they have distributed 10 more battery powered vehicles for the physically handicapped: “We decided to cooperate to remove the obstacles and we all did our part. We gifted them the building we bought through the IP Foundation. We distribute 10 battery powered vehicles to those in need. We want to remove the barriers in the minds,” he said.
Speaking at the ceremony, AK Party Manisa Deputy Selçuk Özdağ also talked about the support provided to the disabled. Özdağ said that they acted as an intermediary in the distribution of battery-powered vehicles to 1200 disabled people, and that they will continue to distribute 100 white canes and battery-operated vehicles from now on. Manisa Governor Mustafa Hakan Güvençer also thanked Manisa Industrial Park for their support.
After the speeches, the opening ribbon of the association building for the physically handicapped was cut. Disabled people and protocol members examined the new association building.
