Fikri Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, visited the companies in Manisa IP during his visit to Manisa and visited the Manisa Governorate and Manisa IP Regional Directorate within the framework of the program.
During his visit, Minister Işık emphasized the contribution of technology production to the country’s economy. Minister Işık, who came to the Vestel factory in Manisa Industrial Park, the first stop of his program, in the early hours of the morning, made observations for a long time and received information from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ahmet Nazif Zorlu. While explaining the contribution of technology producing companies to countries, he said that a company without 1 million employees exports more than Turkey, which has 78 million people, and said that Vestel will become a world-class technology company.
Speaking at the visit, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Işık stated that Manisa is one of the most important cities of Turkey and said that it has become an assertive city in industry as well as in agriculture.
Stating that Manisa will become a center where high technology is produced, Minister Fikri Işık said that it will be an exemplary city for Turkey and that the city will now export technology. Minister Işık continued his words as follows; “In the last 12 years, Manisa’s exports have increased more than 10 times. We would like to see Manisa as a center of high technology. We give a very serious support to R&D in order to support domestic production. It is very pleasing that R&D is developing in Manisa. Now Manisa is not only a city that has made a name for itself with its exports, but it will also make a name for itself with its advanced technology exports.”
After visiting Vestel, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Işık, who visited Manisa Governor Erdoğan Bektaş in his office, received information about the province from the governor of Manisa.
Following the Governor’s visit, Mikromak Kalıp Metal Makine Sanayi ve Tic. Ltd. Sti. and Sarıgözoğlu Hydraulic Machinery and Molding Inc. in Manisa IP. He visited the factories and made inspections and received information from the company officials.
At the last stop of the visit, Minister Fikri Işık came to the Manisa IP Regional Directorate and received information about the Region from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sait Türek. Expressing his satisfaction for the visit of the Minister, Chairman of the Board Sait Türek gave information about the 50-year history of the region, the investments that have been made so far and the projects to be implemented.
He emphasized that the annual foreign trade volume of Manisa IP, which provides employment to approximately 45,500 people, has reached 8.2 billion dollars and is one of the rare IPs with an export surplus.
Türek continued his words; “Manisa IP is not just an IP that allocates land to industrialists. We are an IP where all the services provided by many IPs to industrialists in our country are provided together. Before the land allocation, we deliver the parcels to our industrialists, whose infrastructure works have been completed and have been brought to the service door. We produce the energy needed by our regional industrialists in our own power plant. We supply our industrialists not only with electricity but also with steam and hot water from our power plant, and we cover the necessary infrastructure costs for this.
We know no borders while providing logistics services for the transportation of our industrialists’ products, by providing on-site customs clearance service if necessary, with our Logistics center in our region and our customs directorate located in our region. We ship from our region to the port of Aliağa Harvest with our Menemen-connected railway line.
We built our own vocational high school in order to meet the need for trained intermediate staff, which is one of the most important needs of our region. Although our school has the status of a private school, all of our students receive scholarships and the content of the education program is shaped in line with the demands of our regional industrialists. We continue our efforts to implement a new vocational high school project with a capacity of 1000 students, with the suggestions of our esteemed Governor. In addition, one of our important investments in the field of education is our kindergarten with a capacity of 140 students, which opened its doors to students last year.
Dear Minister, As you have stated, it is our greatest desire for Manisa to become an “Advanced Technology Center”. We are aware that the biggest share in this falls to us as industrialists from Manisa IP. For this reason, the new expansion area VI. In the section, we have a technology development center project that all our companies can benefit from.
